Wandering the streets of a foreign city or town is exhilarating when the mindset is that of a photographer rather than a tourist. The vibrancy or peacefulness created by the people, cars, boats, buildings (or lack thereof) and animals is seen through different eyes. I often find myself sitting on a street corner, patiently waiting for a particular moment that I've envisaged might make a good photo. Sometimes I'm rewarded, others not. Either way, it's worth the experience. I began photographing streetscapes in black & white film but soon realised colour film provides a different perspective. These photos are a selection.
